Audit Manager

O’Connor & Drew, P.C. is a full-service public accounting firm. We are committed to providing proactive and responsive financial reporting and advice based on the client’s individual and business needs.

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our well established and growing practice. The firm has a very active practice in higher education and not-for-profit entities. We are looking for a person who can help us continue to grow these areas of the firm. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who would like to advance their career. The ideal candidate would have 8 to 10 years of public accounting experience including audits, reviews, and compilations. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required. CPA credentials are required.

Specific skills would include:

  • Hands-on approach to plan, conduct, supervise and wrap up engagements for colleges/universities, foundations and not-for-profit entities
  • Along with the Partner, manage the client relationship including looking for ways to improve our services to the clients and experience of our staff on the engagements
  • Pro-actively suggest and assist in implementing improvements to scheduling, staffing, timing and remote working to your engagements
  • Work with and mentor junior staff on engagements
  • Prepare and review financial statements and workpapers
  • Familiarity with FASB and GASB principals as they relate to private and government higher education institutions
  • Develop management recommendations
  • Work with other members of the firm to improve work processes, templates within our education group
  • Participate in several engagements simultaneously, understanding key parts of cases that need to be moved forward
  • Experienced user of Profx tax, Engagement and Document is a plus

Forensic Accountant

O’Connor & Drew, a growing regional public accounting firm, is looking to hire a  Forensic Accountant. The firm has a diverse and expanding client base of individuals, privately held companies, not for profit entities and institutions of higher learning. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with the requisite background who will help us continue to grow this area of our practice. This position is perfect for someone looking to increase their knowledge of forensic accounting while working closely with the Partner who heads up our forensic group.

 Qualifications:

  • 2 plus years in Public Accounting or Internal Audit
  • CPA, CFE or CIA license or working towards one of these licenses
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Experience with data analytics or college-level courses in this subject area
  • Forensic experience preferred
  • Automotive dealership experience a plus but not required

 The ideal candidate will be a self-motivator who thrives in an independent work environment, has an entrepreneurial spirit and is eager to assist in the growth of this area of the practice.

The person hired for the position will be working hand in hand with the Partner who heads up our forensic group. Our Partner has over 15 years of experience with forensic and fraud investigation and is certified as a CPA, CIA, and CFE. In addition to forensic work, the group also conducts due diligence on business acquisitions, fraud investigations, internal control reviews and business consulting for a variety of industries: higher education, automotive dealerships, and many others.

We are looking for a motivated individual to join the tax department of our Braintree office. O’Connor & Drew, P.C. has a core practice in closely-held businesses including, automobile dealerships, retailers, food distributors, and contractors as well as a large number of high net worth individuals and families. We are seeking a creative individual who can help our clients survive and prosper in today’s complex tax environment. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 3 years of tax experience with a public accounting firm.

Specific Responsibilities and skills would include:

  • Experience preparing individual and business tax returns (Corporate, Partnership, trust)Ability to prepare complex multi-state returns
  • Ability to prepare complex multi-state returns
  • Bachelor degree
  • CPA license preferred
  • Ability to research complex tax issues and formulate clear and concise conclusions
