The Federal Trade Commission’s Safeguards Rule requires automobile dealerships to develop, implement and maintain procedures to safeguard customer information. We have developed an Information Security Program that will assist dealers to become compliant with the rule.

The program offers all department managers a detailed presentation on the requirements of the rule. We then perform a risk assessment of the current policies and procedures in place, and implement the controls based upon the requirements of the rule. Finally we prepare an Information Security Program, detailing what is needed and the steps to take so that a dealership maintains compliance.
